CRMS Academic Program Overview

At Chesterfield-Ruby Middle School, students benefit from a well-rounded and thoughtfully structured academic program designed to meet diverse learning needs and prepare them for future success.

• Class Grouping:
  Students are heterogeneously grouped in all classes across all grade levels, with the exception of eighth-grade Language Arts and Mathematics, where placement may be based on academic readiness and performance.

• Instructional Approach:
  Our curriculum incorporates a variety of teaching strategies, including cooperative learning, whole language instruction, and other traditional and research-based methods to support student engagement and achievement in every subject area.

• Exploratory Courses:
  In addition to core academic subjects, students have the opportunity to explore their interests and talents through a range of exploratory classes, including:

  • Keyboarding/ Business Education

  • Art

  • Music

  • Instrumental Band

  • Physical Education

  • STEM

These offerings provide students with a balanced educational experience that nurtures both academic growth and personal development.
