The retest policy is student initiated, and the student must complete the “Request to Retest” form within two days of receiving the assessment back from the teacher.
The teacher and student will coordinate a time for the retest.
The student answers questions in a reflection section of the request. For example, the student must describe the reasons for a poor score and what can be done differently to improve the previous score.
The request also requires the student and parent (grades 6-8) to sign the form as well as the teacher’s approval.
The teacher can provide 2 opportunities to retest during a nine-week period.
Finally, the teacher can determine the most appropriate way to ensure that the concept was learned. It can be an alternate test, a reflection of the missed questions, a lesson form Apex, or an explanation of the new learning, etc.
