CRMS Mathematics Curriculum: i-Ready
At Chesterfield-Ruby Middle School, our mathematics instruction is guided by i-Ready, the curriculum selected by our district to support consistent, high-quality learning experiences for all students.
The i-Ready program offers a clear and structured layout that helps teachers plan and deliver lessons effectively. While following the curriculum, teachers incorporate hands-on manipulatives, real-world examples, and interactive activities to help students develop both conceptual understanding and practical problem-solving skills.
i-Ready also serves as our diagnostic assessment in the Fall, Winter, and Spring. These assessments provide valuable insights into each student’s progress and help teachers adjust instruction to meet individual needs. The diagnostic results—categorized as Approaching, Meets, or Exceeds—often align with what teachers observe in the classroom, giving a clear picture of how students are growing over time.
By using i-Ready for both instruction and assessment, CRMS ensures that students receive a balanced, engaging, and data-informed math experience designed to help them build confidence and success in mathematics.

CRMS English Language Arts (ELA) Curriculum: HMH & i-Ready
At Chesterfield-Ruby Middle School, our English Language Arts instruction is guided by the HMH curriculum, selected by our district to provide structured, engaging, and standards-aligned instruction for all students. The HMH program offers a variety of texts, activities, and lessons that help students develop critical reading, writing, and language skills. Teachers use these materials to support diverse learners, incorporating discussion, guided practice, and interactive activities to deepen comprehension and strengthen communication skills.
In addition to guiding daily instruction, we use i-Ready diagnostics in the Fall, Winter, and Spring to measure student growth in reading. These assessments provide insights into each student’s strengths and areas for improvement. The results—categorized as Approaching, Meets, or Exceeds—often align with what teachers observe in students’ classroom performance, helping inform instruction and support student growth throughout the year.
By integrating HMH instruction with i-Ready diagnostics, CRMS provides a balanced, data-informed ELA program that encourages students to build confidence, improve literacy skills, and become thoughtful, engaged readers and writers.
